Get over here for happy hour!!! Their most famous drink is only 6 bucks and it's bomb!!! Also had the mini nachos and yes they are mini but suuuuuuper tasty!! Don't be scared by the expensive menu... to be honest we like eating on the cheap but will be back just for the happy hour!! Great job Hugo's, you guys have something for everyone!!!
We went here for Happy Hour and we each ordered all 3 Pupus; Fish Taco, Slider, Mini Nachos. I loved them in the order listed and will have a full meal of the fish tacos if we go back before our trip is over. I gave 4 stars for food because our mini nachos were missing the Kahlua pork. We didn't order cocktails. Our server, Marshall, was friendly and attentive. He was new and let us know, but still did an excellent job.
Our first stop for food from the airport. Great choice! The strawberry coconut margarita was absolutely delicious! I had the catch of the day fish sandwich which was fantastic. The sauce they serve it with is divine. And the hubby had the tacos. Also very good. Right on the water. And our waitress was fantastic. Even recommend other places to eat when I asked her. Which we ended up going to 3 of them. Would definitely eat here again.
Great spot for some delicious food, idyllic views, and good vibes. Got here around 4:30pm on a Saturday and was seated in about 5-10minutes. Only gripe I have is that the waiter after taking our drink order (which also took about 15-20minutes to arrive) took off on a 30minute break to god knows where forcing me to flag down a manager who then found the employee after another 5-10minutes to take our food order. Simply said, service could’ve been better. Waiter was friendly however. They also had a local musician play live music at 5:30pm and was one of the best singers I’ve heard at a dining establishment. I thought food tasted great, a bit too salty for others in my party but I’ve come to expect heavily seasoned food from nearly all food places I’ve tried on the big island. Overall a must east/must stop location if you’re staying on the Kailua-Kona side of big island!
My partner and I were looking for food on a whim and stumbled in here for lunch! We got sat by the water and it was wonderful to hear the waves crashing. Our waiter was super awesome, we got some yummy cocktails and the food was great! The catch of the say was cooked perfectly (for me) and then my partner got this chicken sandwich with fried avocado on it and he loved it! It’s a very casual atmosphere and it was just what we needed.
What a great place to just lay back, relax and have some great food! We went on a Sunday evening and there was a bit of a wait but wasn’t bad at all. We lucked out and got a table right next to the ocean, which provided a great view and such a relaxing sound. There was also live music which made for great background music!
This is a great place to have a sunset over the water dinner. We were too late for that but the atmosphere was so pleasant. The kitchen is a food truck! Fun. Meals served in a round bamboo "basket". My table enjoyed the fresh catch of the day, fish n chips, and the pork sandwich. Regular fries were normal. Waffle Sweet Potato fries were good. I really enjoyed the coconut coleslaw. Also liked the Mint Pineapple Mocktail. Desserts are FABULOUS and generous. We shared the Coffee Cheesecake and Ice Cream Pie with Macadamia Nuts.
The staff were super friendly, our waiter was outstanding on the service and customer service. The food was delicious. There were local musicians, atmosphere was fantastic! Great place to eat. Love the fact that the restaurant donates back to the island charities from your purchase specials that they have. Outstanding place!
